Mindset Management After Miscarriage

After experiencing miscarriage at 9 weeks, December 2020, I became enthralled in research about the hows and whys. I battled emotionally with feelings of inadequacy and regret and beat myself up about waiting too long to try again and taking the miracle that is conception and healthy birth for granted. I was cautious to share until after Kingston was born; I can recall the anxiety of every check-up and test until I finally gave myself permission to surrender to the journey. These are a few ways I managed my mindset after miscarriage.

First order, control the controllable. Particularly because I had approach advanced maternal age, which research supports is a growing age group for mothers to be, of which I bodied, (Just saying) I had to ensure I was in the best physical form possible. This included weight, diet, exercise. 2 words “ Muscle Memory” will be your bestfriend postpartum. Next, Visualization. “ A healthy body lives inside a healthy mind”. From first trimester to active labor, envision only positive experiences. I have to admit, I needed help from family/friends along the way. 3rd, listen to your body. Know your limits Momma! I set boundaries like nobody’s business during this season. Get on your “is this serving me?” energy real quick. You can return to saving the world afterwards. LOL. Last but not least, activate your faith. For He knows the plans He has for you. Write your favorite scriptures on your mirror and revisit them often until the words are hidden in your heart. Vibrate so high the universe has to respond.
